Went for a family birthday celebration and had a lovely experience. Good genuine friendly welcome when we arrived, a relaxed friendly atmosphere and a great menu - it’s so good to see a menu that provides just great food and does not bow to the madness of the strange fads of latest trends and the mess of Masterchef! We had lovely food and in my case also well served ale. If I have to find fault a slightly broader drink selection would be nice but not essential. Notes for the not so able - beware many of the tables are upstairs so specify when booking.
A lovely Saturday lunch. Warm and cosy vibe. Great service. Delicious food, although the chermoula aubergine was perhaps a little overpriced... Would definitely recommend.
What a gem! I fell in love with this place. It’s so cosy and authentic, very special. Staff is extremely friendly and the food was such a treat - I was lucky and had the Sunday Roast which was just amazing. Thanks for this amazing experience! I’ll definitely come back whenever I’m in the region!
I have been to the Fountain about four times now. Each and every time has been excellent. I went there Christmas Eve with my family and the welcome we had was warm and cheery. The service, food and the conversation with the staff was all brilliant. One of my favourite places to go and eat.
My wife and I enjoyed a delicious meal here. Service was friendly and well paced. Would return if we're ever in Wells again.
We had a group Christmas meal here at the weekend. 7 of us. We had a great time. The waiters were fun and diligent. The food was great. We even had Carol Singers as entertainment. We had a great night. We will come back!
We popped in here for lunch whilst exploring Wells, it's bigger than expected but has a nice atmosphere and really friendly staff. I had a steak baguette for lunch which was superb with amazing crunchy thick cut chips, we'd definitely visit again if we are in the area.
Absolutely fantastic pub serving delicious food. Best meal of our trip to Wells, I would come back here again and recommend to anyone visiting the city. Definitely book ahead. The calamari was cooked to perfection, and the lasagne is genuinely one of the best I've ever eaten. Save room for pudding - the Eton mess and chocolate fondant are to die for! Brilliant service and friendly attitude from the staff. So pleased we came here.
